WIENER DELIGHT

Split wieners lengthwise. In the split, add small strip of cheese and a piece of green pepper of mango. Wrap a slice of bacon around it, and hold together by a toothpick. Roast in medium oven until edges of meat are browned. Full Article

CORNY DOGS

Sift together corn meal mix and pepper. Add egg, milk and shortening. Beat with rotary beater until smooth. Dip wieners into batter; drain. Fry in hot deep fat (375 degrees) 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper towel. Full Article

HERBED TURKEY IN A BAG

Remove giblets and neck from turkey, reserve for other uses. Rinse turkey with cold water, pat dry. Tie ends of turkey legs to tail with cord or tuck legs under flap of skin. Lift wingtips up and over back, and tuck under turkey. Full Article

LEMON CHICKEN

Dip chicken in egg, then flour. In 12” iron skillet, brown chicken in butter. Add soup mix blended with water. Place lemon on chicken. Bring to boil, simmer covered 10 minutes or until chicken is done. Serve over rice. Makes about 4 servings. Full Article

TOP SIRLOIN STEAK WITH BELL PEPPER

Place steaks in glass baking dish. Mix 4 tablespoons oil, vinegar and half of garlic in small bowl. Pour over steaks, turn to coat. Marinate 30 minutes at room temperature or refrigerate 3 hours. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in large iron skillet over medium heat. Add onion, bell peppers and remaining garlic, and sauté 8 minutes. Full Article

PASTAS

Arrange a layer of meat, seasoned with salt and pepper. Add a layer of onion, then a layer of potatoes. Fold over and seal. Poke holes into top. Place on cookie sheet with a little flour. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until golden brown. Full Article

Prepare 1 package of cornbread mix according to directions and cover bottom of 9x12” pan. Add browned sausage, onion, layer jalapenos, peas, cheese. Mix second package of prepared mix and cover entire dish. Cook until golden brown and cornbread separates from pan. Full Article

PEPPER STEAK

Tenderize steak with flour. Brown and drain off fat. Add soup and catsup. Cut bell peppers into rings and lay over meat. Cook 30-40 minutes. Full Article

CHICKEN RICE DINNER

Combine flour, salt and pepper; coat chicken pieces. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the chicken in oil. Place rice in an ungreased 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with onion and garlic; top with mushrooms. Dissolve bouillon in boiling water; pour over all. Full Article

SWISS STEAK WITH SOUR CREAM

Cut steak into six serving size pieces. Combine flour, paprika, salt and pepper on plate; mix well. Dredge steak in mixture, coating well. Heat oil in 12” iron skillet over medium heat. Add floured steak and brown on both sides (about 10 minutes). Pour off excess oil from skillet. Full Article
